Revlon Global Artistic Director, Gucci Westman creates a bold punk winged eye paired with clean skin for rag & bone’s Fall/Winter ’14 Collection at New York Fashion Week.
“I was really inspired by the French Yé Yé girls of the sixties, so this look focuses on a bold eye with luminous skin. I started with a crème liner and then went over it with a liquid liner to create a more precise line. But this is not your typical cat eye; this look is about pushing it to the edge with a more graphic liner, ” says Westman. “The rag & bone girl is always someone you want to be, with a simple and achievable look that is still different and unique.”
To recreate the nail look worn by the models, celebrity manicurist Jin Soon Choi explains that the best thing about this look is that you can apply nude to any nail shape to keep it looking natural and simple.
“It is all about minimalistic. This look was inspired by the 1960’s, so when I thought of that time and what polish they would wear, a neutral and nude polish was the perfect fit,” says Choi. “To guarantee a finished look, you should always use three coats, so that the polish looks clean and smooth.”
